Making Video CD's

If you want to create videos to use in Video CDs (VCDs) then they will need to be in a very strict MPEG-1 standard.

• Resolution - NTSC - 352x240
• Resolution - PAL - 352x288
• Video Compression - MPEG-1
• Video bitrate - 1150 kbit/s

• Compression - MPEG-1
• Layer - 2
• Sampling frequency - 44.1KHz
• Bit depth: 16 bits
• Bit rate - 224Kbps
• Mode - stereo

After the Video(s) to be used in the VCD have been edited in your favourite Editing application such as Premiere, VideoWave, VideoStudio, MediaStudio, it is time to make the VCD. This can be done in a number of ways. Some editing softwares allow you to do it inside the program e.g. VideoWave 5 Power Edition.
